What this app is
DaCrib is a household coordination app. It helps roommates manage shared chores, communicate on the household board, track shared expenses, and stay organized together. Your data is used only to make DaCrib work for you and your household.
What we collect and why
Account information
- Email address — used to sign you in, send password resets, and (if you enable email notifications) deliver household alerts.
- Display name — the name shown to your roommates inside the app.
Household content
When you use DaCrib you create content: tasks (titles, due dates, completion records), DaFridge posts and polls, expenses and settlements, and any photos or files you attach to chores. This content is shared with the other members of your household and is not visible to anyone outside it.
Optional phone number
If you choose to receive SMS reminders you can add a phone number in your notification preferences. It is stored privately — your roommates cannot see it — and used only to send you chore and bill reminders. Remove the number and SMS delivery stops.
Device push token
When you grant notification permission on an iOS device, the app registers a device push token with Expo’s push notification service. The token is stored against your account and used only to deliver push notifications to that device. Each device has its own token, and tokens are removed when you delete your account or turn push notifications off.
How we store your data
All data is stored in a Supabase-hosted Postgres database. Household isolation is enforced at the database level using Row Level Security — one household’s data cannot be read or modified by members of a different household. Your phone number is stored with additional restrictions: only you and the notification system (using a server-side key) can read it.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
- We do not share your data with third-party analytics providers.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not collect data beyond what is described above.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time, from either app. On iOS: the Account tab → Danger Zone → “Delete my account”. On the web: Settings → Danger Zone. Both ask you to type DELETE to confirm.
What deletion does:
- Your authentication record and your profile are permanently deleted. You are signed out immediately and cannot sign back in.
- Your household memberships are removed.
- Your device push tokens, notification preferences, push subscriptions, and calendar connections are deleted immediately.
- If you were the last member of a household, that household and all of its content are deleted entirely.
- Content you created in a household that still has other members — chores, posts, expenses, settlements — remains, because your roommates depend on that shared history. Your name is detached from it: it displays as “A former member”. Balances involving a deleted member are excluded from ongoing expense math.
- If you own a household that still has other members, deletion is blocked until you transfer ownership to another member. The app tells you this and points you to the web app to transfer.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. We do not retain your email address or personal information afterwards.
